Situated in the state of Uttarkhand, Nainital is the largest and most favorite hill station in the entire Kumaon region of the state. It is a perfect destination for a budget holiday, and can be visited anytime round the year. Nainital is popularly known as the lake district of Uttarkhand and it is famous for its numerous lakes, the most famous amongst them being the Naini Lake. It is said that a trip to Nainital is incomplete without experiencing a boat ride across the Naini Lake. Apart from this lake there are others as well. About 23km from the central business district of Nainital is situated Sat Tal, which has a cluster of seven fresh water lakes nestled together whose names are Panna Tal, Nal Damyanti Tal, Sita Tal, Ram Tal, Laxman Tal, Purna Tal, and Khurdariya Tal.

The Governor’s House, now known as the Raj Bhawan was built in the year 1899 by the British. Many tourists flock there to admire the old but royal place.

The famous Naina Devi Temple, the Hanuman Garhi are holy places for the Hindus is also located in this town. Nainital also has other popular tourist spots such as the Dorothy’s Seat and snow view point. Getting to Nainital is also not a big task. For domestic flights, Patnagar is the nearest airport to Nainital. Apart from that, in terms of international flights, Nainital is well connected to the Indira Gandhi International Airport at New Delhi.
