Cheap Holiday Package To Kodaikanal

Tamil Nadu is said to be one of India’s hottest states as it is situated quite close to the equator. However, it is a wonder that one of the best hill stations of India, Kodaikanal is situated in this state. The beauty of this serene hill station amidst the picturesque settings of the Western Ghats has fetched it the nickname “Princess of Hill Stations” in India. It provides the tourist with a breathtaking beauty of nature with its majestic rocks, pristine waterfalls and hilly slopes. Kodaikanal is one of the best destinations for budget holidays in Tamil Nadu and in India.

The star shaped Berijam Lake, famous for its pure water is the star attraction of Kodaikanal. A trip to this hill station cannot be considered complete until one takes a look at this lake. It is situated about 21km away from Kodaikanal. Since it is a hill station, trekking and mountaineering are the most sought after adventure sports there. There are also arrangements for paragliding. Tamil Nadu government was initially not too ambitious about tourism, but in the recent years, there have been initiatives to increase the tourism industry in Tamil Nadu, and Kodaikanal has been one of the main tourist spots to focus on. Due to government initiatives, many cheap hotels as well as government guest houses have come up here, thereby making budget holidays possible in and around this hill station.

The Kodai Lake in Kodaikanal provides the best scopes for boating, and boating in the lake in the evening is an experience in itself. Kodaikanal also has a very beautiful pine forest, and there are horse riding opportunities around this forest. Horse riding is one of the most favorite tourist activities in Kodaikanal. About 4kkm from this lake is situated the temple of Kurinjiandavar, which is the place of worship of Lord Muruga. It is said that the flowers inside this temple blooms once in every twelve years; strange, but true. This temple makes Kodaikanal a pilgrim’s destination as well, and many pilgrims come here on budget holidays. Reaching the place is not a deal at all. One can get to the Madurai or Coimbatore airports, which are the two most closest airports to this place. From the two cities, there are plenty of buses, trekkers or even private rent cars available which can bring you to this hill station.
